First things first, you’ll need a quality gold pan. If you don’t have one yet, no worries! Head over to our shop and grab the best prospecting gear in the universe. Once you’ve got your pan, it’s time to get started.
Step-by-Step Guide to Panning Gold:

Fill Your Pan: Scoop some paydirt into your pan. Make sure it’s not too full, about half full is perfect.

Submerge and Shake: Submerge your pan in water and give it a good shake. The goal here is to let the heavier gold sink to the bottom while the lighter material rises to the top.

Circular Motion: With the pan still underwater, gently swirl it in a circular motion. This helps to further separate the gold from the lighter materials.

Wash Out Lighter Material: Tilt your pan slightly and let the lighter material wash out over the edge. Be careful not to wash out the gold!

Repeat: Repeat the shaking and washing process until only black sand and gold remain.

Final Clean-Up: Carefully swirl the remaining material to reveal the gold. Use a snuffer bottle to suck up the gold flakes.
